Welcome to the website of St. Andrew & Holy Cross.

Our parish churches serve the local communities of Fryerns, Craylands, Beechwood Village and Barstable East in the Essex town of Basildon.

We seek to love and worship God, to grow in prayer, flourish in our faith and to joyfully live out the good news of Jesus Christ at the heart of the local community.  We see ourselves as a family, inclusive of all, and hope you find a warm welcome with us.

The Reverend Tim Brampton

A service of Welcome and Commissioning for Rev Tim Brampton as Vicar of St Andrew with Holy Cross was held at Holy Cross Church on Wednesday 24th January 2024 at 7:30pm.

Rev Tim will remain Rector of St Martin’s whilst also being Vicar of this Parish of St Andrew’s with Holy Cross. The two remain Parishes in their own right, with Reverend Tim having responsibility of care for both.

Acts435

We have started to partner with Acts435, a giving website that allows people to give money directly to those in need. Do visit the Acts435 website to see how you might be able to play a part in providing real practical help to someone in need today.

Our Weekly Services :

In-church services are now happening on both Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
For details of our services please see here.

We meet together on Sunday mornings at St Andrew’s and Sunday and Wednesday mornings at Holy Cross. Our services will still allow us to use some social distancing. You may also want to consider wearing a face covering still as an expression of our love and care for each other.

Easter Services

Our Easter services are listed here. Join us as we journey through Holy Week to the wonderful celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.

St Andrew’s Café

The St Andrew’s Café is open for coffee and toast from 9:00am on Thursday mornings and for a lunchtime meal on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. See here for more information.

Holy Cross Restoration

We are continuing with our appeal to complete the restoration work for Holy Cross. If you’d like to make a donation to support that work please visit our give-a-little page or you can also visit our dedicated Justgiving page.

On-line services

We understand that there are some who do find it difficult to attend church in person, so the Sunday morning service from St Andrew’s also will continue to be live-streamed on our FaceBook page.

As well as the FaceBook livestream, the Sunday morning service will be available on YouTube.

We can continue to worship and pray as a church each one of us where-ever we are. There are some resources to help with this on our worship page.

We are keen to support the local community as much as possible so if anyone needs assistance with shopping etc please message us through our Facebook page ❤️. Our Facebook page is the place for latest updates too.
