Prayer for 24th March

ACTIVE LOVE John 8:31-32

Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples. You will know the truth, & the truth will set you free.”

Christianity is an action. At no time more than today does God call us to action – to get rid of our selfishness & help others. Many of us may not be able to get out of our houses in this time of the corona virus but we can pray, pray for all those around us, our country & our world.

The word ‘remain’ means ‘abide’ in the passage for today, which means to “be as one” with Jesus. Jesus gave us a model to live by – to act like Him every day, living His words & abiding in Him. Today lets vow to cover our bodies with Him in the fruits of the Spirit – faith, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness & self-control. Cover yourselves in prayer & God’s word. That’s how we remain with Christ, taking action & continually seeking God.

Spend some time praying for the church family. Lift them to the Lord in prayer & ask for His love & protection.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ,
You are the Word. Help us today to remain actively in You
to do what we can for others in these times of uncertainty
& to continually pray & seek your will.
Please fill us with your Spirit for your truth alone sets us free.
In your name we pray.
