Prayer & Reflection 26th March

Hope & Trust in the Lord
Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you & not to harm you.”
Psalm 30:2 “Lord my God, I called to you for help, & you healed me.”
Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Jesus Christ.”
Psalm 47:7 “For God is the King of all the earth, sing to him a psalm of praise.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, & he will make your paths straight.”
Psalm 30:5 “Weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Reflection:
While the corona virus may impact our health, our economy, & our very way of life, we serve a God who is bigger & stronger than any sickness, fear, darkness, or weapon of the enemy, & He has a plan.
Our God is healer, provider & King of all.
So trust in the Lord, trust in His power, trust in His plan, & stand firm in His promises. Be the Church & the light & love of Christ to a sick & frightened world. And when you are too afraid, never forget the words of Psalm 30: “weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father
Worry & fear are not of your heart & your scriptures constantly remind us that your perfect love casts out fear.
We pray that you will write your love upon the hearts of all those who are burdened with the fear of this virus.
Lord, we know with no doubt that you are bigger than the threat of anything, especially illnesses.
Please comfort those who are living in fear, please free them from the bondage that anxiety creates within, & help them to put their hope & trust in you.
Remind them that you are still on the throne, & that you are still in control.
Rain down on us the serenity that comes only from you, the Prince of Peace.
Help those who are living  in unease to trust this time, so that in times to come we may be reassured that you will be faithful to be with us until the end of the age.
Amen.
