God the Artist!
Over the last few days, we have thought about worldly names and labels. Today we are going to look at the names and labels that are given to us in scripture, God breathed by the one that knows us and created us!
Take a few moments to prayerfully read Psalm 139, notice the words and take them in to your heart, these words were written for you.

How often do we look in the mirror and decide we do not like what we see? Or we pick holes in ourselves for all the ways we perceive that we fall short and mess up?
That is not how God created us to be, Psalm 139 shows us that God created us just the way we are, He has always been with us and always will be. How great would it be if we could start seeing ourselves the way that God does?
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
Collins dictionary says that a masterpiece is:
“An artist’s, writer’s, or composer’s masterpiece is the best work that they have ever produced.”
Doesn’t it just take your breath away knowing that there is someone who looks at us this way?
YOU are the BEST work God ever produced!
Now if God see’s us as His masterpiece, why do we find ourselves doubting this? When we pick fault in ourselves, are we saying that God makes mistakes?
When asked what was the greatest commandment Jesus answered:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:30-31
Many Christians put others first and focus on the “Love your neighbour” part of this scripture, leaving out the “as yourself” part.
God loves what He has created, so shouldn’t we too? It can be a struggle and we can focus more on what we do that is wrong or what does not look right or those parts of ourselves we do not like (according to worldly perception)
If this is how you talk to yourself STOP right now! Do not let those lies carry on, do not let them continue to hurt and damage you, listen instead to the one who loves you, the one who created you.
God knows that we do not always get things right, but he invites us to search the scriptures to see ourselves as He sees us. He is saying “I love you so much, look in the mirror and see the masterpiece I created, my treasure, the one I planned before you came in to being, the one I sent my son to come and die for-I am yours and you are mine”
To have our identity in Christ goes much deeper than claiming these scriptures for ourselves, it is about knowing who you are, who you belong to and placing your confidence for life eternal in Jesus Christ.
You are God’s masterpiece, You are Loved, You are His child!
God invites us to in to a relationship with Him, will you say yes to God today?
