Daily reflection – Saturday 18th April

‘Then I saw between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders a Lamb standing as if it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He went and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne. When he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty four elders fell before the Lamb, each holding a harp and golden bowls full of incence, which are the prayers of the saints.’ Revelation 5: 6-8

To how many WhatsApp groups do you belong?  I counted up those connected with my ministry and it’s twelve. Some are more busy than others, but I have noticed this: the ones used for prayer requests are way and above the most active. Especially in the past few weeks.

So much has changed in our worship and how we live out our Christian faith, yet we remain together as the body of Christ, fully connected and functioning. Even if the emoji of praying hands is all we reply, how much comfort and love is shared.

In reading from Revelation last night, these words really struck me, ‘golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.’ WOW! There are our little praying hands in golden bowls at the throne of God. Whether you go into a quite space and light a candle, or talk to God while you are doing chores, this connecting with God to give him praise and make our requests known are precious to our Father.

May God bless you today, and give you peace.
